For churches struggling financially: Two years ago our church went through a "zero-based" budgeting process, where our expenses were less than our proven income. It really helped get us on the right track, and helped us think through our priorities.

This year we had a Fall Membership Drive. Our Deacons personally delivered "Membership Renewal Kits" which included an appraisal of spiritual disicplines, ways to volunteer, and a financial pledge.
